Deborah Russell - Director

After graduating from the University of St Andrews in 1977, Deborah worked in medical laboratory science at various London teaching hospitals, specialising in Transfusion Medicine and obtaining Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science.

In 1987 she left the Health Service to join Bristol Myers’ pharmaceutical sales team, but quickly found medical devices more interesting than drugs, so moved into that area.

After three years in medical sales, she took an opportunity to join a new company about to be launched in the giftware sector, first as sales manager and later as a director. In this role she was responsible for all sales and marketing activity, including management of UK sales agents and worldwide distributors. In addition, she managed the sales office and warehouse. The company grew rapidly, achieving a turnover of £3m in the third year of trading.

However, she missed the personal satisfaction provided by healthcare and eventually returned, firstly to run a specialist Scottish distributor, and subsequently becoming the UK sales manager for Surgicraft Ltd.

An outstanding new orthopaedic product (already in the hands of a distributor) prompted the move to independent sales in January 2002, and this has been her role for the last thirteen years, in various disciplines.

She has shown herself to be an intelligent, adaptable and determined person, with well-developed inter-personal and organisational skills plus an analytical mind.

Krishna Mahadevan - Director
Krish also graduated from the University of St Andrews, in 1988 with a BSc. Hons. in Marine Biology. After University, Krish went directly into pharmaceutical sales with Schwarz Pharma, specializing in cardiovascular drug delivery. During this time Krish obtained the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) qualification.

A more ‘hands on’ role selling orthopaedic implants for Stryker UK followed, which gave a rapid initiation into Operating Theatre Sales. Further experience was garnered selling two seminal products with Colgate Medical: Orthofix (an external fixator for trauma and limb-lengthening) and the laryngeal mask, which is now an indispensable part of the Anaesthetist’s toolbox.

After six years experience, in 1995, he made the leap to self employment, and has been a successful Independent Agent for twenty years, selling both capital equipment and single use products. Early roles included training an Orthopaedic Sales team (then AME) in the USA on behalf of Orthofix. His contacts and experience range over many disciplines, including Anaesthetics, Critical Care, Orthopaedic, Cardiac, and Urological Surgery.

Krish has a deeply held philosophy of selling innovative clinically beneficial products, providing top class product support, and developing enduring professional relationships all of which are key factors in his approach to generating sustainable long-term business.

Krish is a keen runner, mountaineer, martial artist, and an enthusiastic, if somewhat amateur player of the piano and guitar. He has studied Human Biology with the Open University, and has an ongoing passion for personal development.
